Trekking im Königreich Mustang - 20 Tage ab USD 2190


Auf über 3.000 Metern Höhe, in der Steinwüste Nepals, liegt Mustang, ein altes buddhistisches Königreich. Von Bergen umgeben, isoliert von seinen Nachbarn, ist das „Land der Glückseligkeit“ nur zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Mustang trekking ist ist beliebt Trekkingreise in Annapurna Region. Mustang Lo Manthang trekking bietet schonen Himalayan aussicht, schone landschaft, Tibetansiche kultur, Mustangi konig palace , Tibetan kloster. Bis 1992 war der Zugang für Touristen sogar komplett verboten. Wer heute Mustang besuchen möchte, braucht eine der wenigen Genehmigungen, die jedes Jahr erteilt werden. Start unserer Reise ist Kathmandu, die Hauptstadt Nepals. Gemeinsam besuchen wir die großen Tempel der Stadt und die nahe gelegene Königsstadt Bhaktapur. Anschließend reisen wir über Pokhara weiter nach Mustang. Wir wollen dieses mystische Land, in dem sich jahrhundertealte Bräuche und Riten bis heute bewahrt haben, behutsam kennenlernen. Auf unserer Trekkingtour entdecken wir die wüstenähnliche Welt „hinter“ dem Himalaya, besuchen ursprüngliche Bergdörfer und lernen die besondere Spiritualität des tibetischen Buddhismus kennen. Durch wilde Schluchten folgt unser Weg den Strecken der alten Karawanen.

In einer sonnendurchfluteten Sand- und Steinebene wartet mit bunten Fahnen geschmückt Lo Manthang, die Hauptstadt des Königreichs Mustang. Hier besichtigen wir den beeindruckenden Königspalast und schauen dem einen oder anderen Lopa bei seiner täglichen Arbeit über die Schulter. Upper Mustang and Teri La Pass Trekking


Teri La pass trek is very recently explored but it is becoming destination to go for all trekkers as it's one of the challenging and most beautiful treks one can hike in the Himalaya.  Upper Mustang and Teri La Pass trek starts near Jomsom after short flight from Pokhara and follows the section of upper Mustang trek for few days and leaves the human civilization for few days and enters to completely alpine zone crossing high passes involved some rope  work to cross tricky passes and sleeping in the snowy area above 5000mtr for few nights.  The main Teri La pass is 5990mtr. After crossing this pass the trek enteres to culturally rich and un explored Tibetan like villages in the valley of Phu and finally it arrives back to Marshyangdi valley where the Annapurna circuit trek ends / starts at Jagat or Syange.

Upper Mustang Trek @ USD 1880 / Per Person


The Transhimalayan Mustang Region is also known as the Last Forbidden Kingdom, since the region was restricted for outsiders until Nepal Government announced the opening of the restricted areas in October 1991. The Mustangis or the people of Mustang call themselves Lobas, and they have their own King or Tribe-leader, Jigme Palbar Bista. After Nepal was declared a republic in 2007, the Nepal Government took back the official recognition of the Bista as the Mustangi King. However, the people there still respect him as their King or tribe-leader. Bista also grants audience the visitor upon request.  There is also strict control in obtaining a special permit from the department of immigration to protect their tradition from outside influence as well as to protect their environment. The Upper Mustang trek starts from Jomsom to Kagbeni, the entry point of upper Mustang Region. Follow the banks of Kaligandaki River upstream to get to Lo-Mangthang, the capital of the upper Mustang.

Mustang is one of the few places in the Himalayan region that has been able to retain its traditional Tibetan culture unmolested...authentic Tibetan culture now survives only in exile and a few places like Mustang, which have had long historical and cultural ties with Tibet." - The Dalai Lama

Saribung Peak Climbing Expedition

Mt. Saribung Expedition (6,346m) situated north of Mustang region of Nepal and seldom visited by westerners. Damodar Saribung traverse is at the perimeter close to Tibet, where rugged landscapes and primitive culture merge in a very unique interpretation of lands forgotten by time.

Mt. Saribung Peak 6387m. lies in the isolated in Damodar Himal, near Damodar Kunda and closed to border of Tibet.  This is recently introduced Saribung Peak climbing is ideal for the explorers those who wish to get off the beaten track of Lo-Manthang, Nepal. Till date, only a few of climbers have reached to the summit of this Peak. This Saribung Peak Climbing is not a technical climbing though considered to be a challenging expedition due to altitude variation and remoteness of the area. Stretched dry rugged terrain and glacier travel mode for the most part with at the most a couple of sections of fixed line requiring the use of a jumar and other climbing gears.

By flight we reach Jomsom, starting point of the trek to reach Lo Manthang, the capital of the Mustang. From there, through wild and isolated region, we reach the Saribung Peak. After its ascent, the route continues through the villages of Phu and Nar, crosses the Kang La pass at 5320m and plunges to the Marshyangdi Valley exiting through the Annapurna Round starting point.

The extreme scenery diversity with colored eroded canyons, troglodyte caves, typical Tibetan villages, monasteries, glaciers and high mountains, makes this program one of the best in Nepal. Certainly, one of the best trekking in Nepal!
